Patients giving consent to take part in the study.
Patients undergoing clean open abdominal surgeries including inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia and para-umbilical hernia repairs.
Age of the patient less than 18 years
Age more than 80 years
Laparoscopic surgery.
Patient with type 2 Diabetes mellitus.
Patient with known history of immunodeficiency.
Patient with history of taking systemic corticosteroid therapy.
Presence of pre-existing systemic or local infection.
Patients with strangulated or obstructed hernia.
Patients developing hypersensitivity reaction for the antibiotic.

Name Time Method To study the effect of combining preoperative intra-incisional administration of antibiotic with intravenous antibiotic in prevention of surgical site infections.Timepoint: Post operative day 3 and then alternative day until suture removal
