Generalized Gingivitis Patient:
Individual with at least 20 remaining teeth with:
Gingival index > 20%
Bleeding on probing > 20% of sites
Probing depth <= 4mm
Clinical attachment loss <1mm
Generalized Chronic Periodontitis Patient
Individual with at least 20 remaining teeth with:
Gingival Index >20%
Bleeding on Probing > 20%
Probing Depth > 4mm
Clinical Attachment Loss >= 1mm
Any periodontal surgery in the past 6 months.
Any chronic diseases, infectious diseases, immunological diseases, pregnancy, lactation, smoking (current or former smoker for 10 years).
Use of medications such as: antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, immunosuppressants, anticoagulants, and lipid-lowering drugs.

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method All the clinical parameters along with the MPO level will be assessed at baseline in Gingivitis and Chronic Periodontitis patients. Then after non-surgical periodontal therapy these parameters along with the MPO levels will be assessed again after 1 month and after 3 monthsTimepoint: 1 month and 3 months
