Hand grip strength is defined as the measurement of the strength of several muscles in the hands and forearm that play a significant role in performing the activities of daily living such as cooking, washing clothes, and raising from the chair. It is also defined as the maximum voluntary contraction of the hand. Grip strength, pinch strength and wrist range of motion are very helpful for evaluating treatment outcomes on wrist intervention.
Incidence of low hand grip strength begins at 40 years of age at the rate of 10 -15% per decade and becomes more rapid with increasing age.
Grip strength is a simple, Inexpensive and widely used clinical measure of muscle strength which has been considered as a possible predictor of overall body strength among both genders. Hand grip strength is a good indicator of physical fitness and d fatality among the elderly. Due to the reduction in anthropometric data with age, the hand grip strength also declines. A study has proved that due to the differences in body shape, composition and body anthropometric parameters, the level of hand grip also differs among individuals of different countries.
The need of the study is to identify the difference in the hand grip strength and wrist ROM in different groups of females so that it will help the rehabilitation therapist to identify the type of rehabilitation protocol by considering their various anthropometric data and their profession

入选标准
- •participants aged 30-60 years having the profession of farmers, teachers, and house-helps and willing to participate in the study.
排除标准
- •participants having any neuroloical condition or musculoskeletal issues such osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, recent upper limb fracture bone, recent upper limb surgery, carpal tunnel syndrome, diabtes mellitus.
