Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients above the age of 60 years undergoing hip surgeries under spinal anaesthesia will be screened by a resident doctor for MMSE. (MMSE \>25\)
Exclusion Criteria
- •Age \< 60 years
- •Patients with MMSE \<25
- •Depression, Schziophrenia or Parkisonism.
- •History of Cerebrovascular accident, neurodegenerative disorders, cranial surgeries done, etc.
- •History of chronic alcoholism, substance abuse ( \<4weeks prior to hospitalization)
- •Patients on neuroactive drugs or appetite stimulants
- •Patients with pronounced hearing or visual loss
- •Patients who do speak in common languages (other than English, Kannada and Hindi.)
- •Treatment with or corticosteroids or immune\-modulators in previous 6 months.
