The subjects of the present study were patients between 19 and 70 years of age scheduled for gynecological laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia and with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) class 1 or 2.
Patients receiving medications for cardiovascular disease, with the exception of hypertension; those with ASA class of 3 or higher in the preanesthesia evaluation; those with confirmed or possible pregnancies; those with gastroesophageal reflux disease; those with a body mass index (BMI) over 35 kg/m2; and those expected to have difficulties in airway management were excluded from the study.
