a)Patients in the age group of 20-70 years
b)Patients having no evidence of interproximal attach¬ment loss, probing pocket depth (PPD) of =3 mm at any sites on any teeth, and whole-mouth bleeding scores of =10% will serve as controls.
c)Patients with chronic generalized periodontitis having at least two or more inter¬proximal sites with an attachment loss of =4 mm, or two or more interproximal sites with PPDs of =5 mm, not on the same tooth. It will be ensured that the total number of teeth in the mouth will be =20.
