- Computed tomography has a high sensitivity and can therefore be a useful supplementary screening tool in certain situations, such as imminent acute need for intensive medical treatment, lack of timely access to an RT-PCR or also for exclusion diagnostics in the case of incongruent RT-PCR test results and the clinical-anamnestic appearance. The limited specificity and inability to make a definitive diagnosis using computed tomography 2 must be taken into account. Variables such as age, gender, laboratory chemical parameters and vital signs can be used for risk stratification of the course of COVID-19 patients
