Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients \>\= 18 years of age with ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke confirmed by neuroimaging, presenting within 24 hours of signs and symptom onset
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients with history of stroke and has a modified Rankin Scale score higher than 2
- •Patients with an infection history within 2 weeks before stroke
- •Patients having respiratory infections during hospital at admission
- •Patients taking immunosuppressants or steroids
- •Patients having malignancies or autoimmune diseases
- •Patients not willing to give consent for the study
