Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1 Patients above 18 years of age
  • •2 Patients with evidence of sepsis admitted into a medical intensive care unit.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1 Age \< 18 years.
  • •2 Decompensated chronic liver disease
  • •3 On treatment with immunosuppressive agents.
  • •4 Patients of retro viral illness.
  • •5 Patients with neuromuscular diseases, autoimmune disease.
  • •6 Presence of left ventricular dysfunction or cardiac bypass surgery
  • •7 Chest or abdominal trauma
  • •8 Burn injury.
