Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Systemically healthy patients (Category: American Society of Anesthesiologists class 2 or less than 2\)(15\) between 18 – 60 years of age with maxillary teeth diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis having lingering pain which is continuous in nature will be included in the study.
  • 2\. Tooth with moderate to deep caries, which shows VAS scale more than 3, will be included in the study.
  • 3\. A written informed consent will be taken from all the patients and only those patients ready to sign the consent form will be included in the study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Patients with known hypersensitivity to lignocaine will be excluded from the study
  • 2\. Non\-vital teeth /acute apical abscess / phoenix abscess that will give negative response to EPT will be excluded from the study.
  • 3\. Patients who had taken analgesic medication 12 hrs before the treatment will be excluded from the study
  • 4\. Patients with fractured or visibly cracked tooth, developmental anomalies, pathology or open apex
  • will be excluded from the study
  • 5\. Pregnant and lactating women will be excluded.
  • 6\. Medically compromised patients and patients with history to any substance abuse
  • will be excluded from the study.
