Inclusion Criteria
1.All patients aged > 18 yrs scheduled for elective surgery after at least 8 hrs of fasting.
2.ASA I and II physical status
Exclusion Criteria
1.Lack of consent for participation in the study
2.Presence of abdominal mass or ascites
3.Pregnancy
4.ASA III, IV &V physical status
5.Poor Sonoanatomy causing poor visualization of the inferior vena cava and the right atrium
6.Fasting less than 8 hrs or emergency surgery
