Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •All patients irrespective of their age or sex with rheumatic heart disease (AS/AR or MS/MR) diagnosed by clinical history and echocardiography.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\.Patients who have prosthetic valves that cause susceptibility artifacts and degrade the accuracy of CMR assessment.
  • •2\.Patients with previously repaired valves.
  • •3\.Patient with active rheumatic carditis and decompensated heart failure.
  • •4\.Patients with congenital valve pathologies.
  • •5\.Patients with coronary artery disease.
  • •6\.Patients who did not complete the study due to any patient\-related factors and loss to follow up.
  • •7\.Poor\-quality scans due to patient\-related or technical factors.
  • •8\.Patient with contraindications to CMR.
