Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adult patients (age \>18 years) of either sex, belonging to ASA class I \-III, undergoing elective unilateral thoracotomies for lung resection surgeries within the study period in the Department of Onco\-Anaesthesia and Palliative Medicine at the B R Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (BRAIRCH), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients with unoptimized mechanical or parenchymal lung diseases including pulmonary hypertension (pre\-operative FEV1 \< 50% of predicted value)
  • Patients with active infections – systemic or local
  • Patients with hemoglobin \< 10g% or Serum albumin \< 3 g/dL, pre\-operatively
  • Patients who are allergic to any of the study drugs
