Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Delirium: Age \>\= 18 years, Patient or legal representative gave consent, clinical diagnosis of delirium or acute encephalopathy, screened by CAM\-ICU and validated by ICD\-10 criteria
  • •Controls: Age \>\= 18 years, Patient or legal representative gave consent

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Documented history of dementia, history of intracranial and cardiovascular surgery or recent interfering neurological events within the past year, including stroke, trauma, encephalitis, brain metastasis and seizures
