The enrolled patients are age 20 to 80 years requiring central venous catheter for clinical treatment, such as administration of blood products and cardiovascular medications, and monitoring of central venous pressure in major elective surgery.
Exclusion criteria included; a history of previous central venous catheterization on the right subclavian vein, surgical repair of a clavicular fracture, prior thoracic surgery, or infection over the puncture site and refusal to enroll in the study.
