1.ASA 1&2.
2.Age 20 to 65 years of both sex.
3.Patients undergoing elective surgery under general Anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation lasting upto 3 hours in supine position.
1. Patient not willing to participate in the study
2. History of prior sore throat and common cold
3. Patient using steroids or Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
4. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and hypertension
5. Anticipated difficult airway
6. Patient requiring more than 2 intubation attempts
7. Traumatic laryngoscopy and intubation
8. Patient having drug allergies to the study drug
9. Surgeries requiring prone position
10. Surgeries lasting more than 3 hours
11. Patients with any contraindication for general anaesthesia
12. Surgery of involving oral cavity, nasopharynx, larynx and neck regions
13. Pregnant women
