Inclusion Criteria
Patients of both sexes; age between 45 and 70 years; previous diagnosis of primary systemic arterial hypertension, signed the Informed Consent Term.
Exclusion Criteria
Secondary hypertension; systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 180 mmHg or diastolic BP greater than or equal to 110 mmHg; in use of beta-blockers; with diabetes mellitus; history of cancer; in use of any dietary supplement; any serious life-threatening illness; cardiovascular diseases.

Name Time Method Improvement of the endothelial function of hypertensive patients after acute ingestion of beet juice.

Name Time Method Increased dilatation of the brachial artery, verified by means of the microvascular reactivity method, from the ingestion of beet juice, an inorganic nitrate rich drink, based on the variation of the percentage of increase of perfusion and percentage of increase of the area on the curve.
