Inclusion Criteria
Body weight 40-80kg
American Society of Anesthesiologists class1, 2
undergoing laparoscopic surgery of duration upto 3 hours
Exclusion Criteria
1. Unwilling patients
2. Respiratory diseases
3. Cardiac diseases with might represent risk factors of potential complications of dexmedetomidine
4. Long term use of sedative drugs, benzodiazepines, barbiturates and sedative hypnotics
5. Patients transferred to open surgery during operation.
