1 Clinical features of madhumeha (type 2 diabetes mellitus) as mentioned in diagnostic criteria.
2 Patient between the ages of 25 to 65 years.
3 Patients with fasting venous glucose 127 to 170mg/dl or postprandial venous glucose 200 to 300 mg/dl.
4 Patients suitable for virecana (according to cha.si. 2/13) and basti (according to cha.si. 2/16).
1. Patients with associated diseases like cancer, tuberculosis, severe cardiovascular disease.
2. Patients having complications of diabetes like nephropathy, retinopathy,diabetic foot, carbuncles.
3. Patients having diabetes in association with other endocrinopathies likephaeochromocytoma, acromegaly, cushingâ??s syndrome, hyperthyroidism.
ï?´ï?®ï? Patients having drug or chemical induced Type 2 diabetes mellitus, likeglucocorticoids induced or thyroid hormone induced.
ï?µï?®ï? Patients with genetic syndromes associated with Type 2 diabetes mellitus likeDownâ??s syndrome, klinefelterâ??s syndrome, Turnerâ??s syndrome.
6. Patients of age less than 25 and more than 65 years.
7. Patients dependent on insulin.
8. Patients not suitable for virecana (according to cha.si.2/11) and basti (according to cha.si.2/14).
9. Pregnant and lactating women.
