Inclusion Criteria
Free from systemic diseases.
Subjects whose gingival scores are moderate and plaque scores are fair.
Subjects having DMFT scores 3 and above.
Should not have used mouthrinses during the study period.
Subjects whose parents give informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria
Suffering from diseases which might affect the salivary flow.
History of hypersensitivity to iodine.
History of antibiotic therapy for at least 6 weeks prior to saliva collection at baseline and 12 months.
Subjects with developmental defects of teeth.
Subjects who are physically challenged.
