Inclusion Criteria

Pregnant volunteers ente 18- 42 years, be performing prenatal consultation at low risk in the Health Unit Family and owning landline or cell phone.

Exclusion Criteria

Gestation above 36 weeks of pregnancy, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Gestational Hypertension, pregnancy termination and the difficulty to understand the questions and the questionnaire or educational intervention.

Increase the appropriate level of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) on using food CAP regionais.Para measure, variables were defined and measured according to the concept of appropriate and inappropriate.The KAP survey was submitted for review with judges and a pretest with 55 pregnant women.;Statistical significance and the increase of the appropriate level of knowledge, attitude and practice on regional foods to the seventh and thirtieth day of educational intervention compared with the control group.

Outcome 1) Gradient of food security: food security, food insecurity mild, moderate food insecurity and severe food insecurity. Gradient food security was defined from scores established by the Brazilian Food Security Scale (Segall-Correa et al 2003).The Expected outcome was the establishment of the gradient type food security of women in the study. <br>  Outcome 2) The food consumed by pregnant women, daily, at least once a day.The measurement was performed according to the food group Food Pyramid (cereals and derivatives, roots and tubers, dairy products, eggs, fruits and juices, beans, red meat, sausages, soft drinks and margarine, butter, oil). The expected outcome was the frequency of regional foods consumed by pregnant women in the IG and CG.;It was observed that pregnant women in the intervention group and the control group consumed more frequently the bean type. And pregnant women had a higher prevalence for food security.
