The study examined 25 patients who underwent acupuncture therapy at the request of their attending physician. Acupuncture treatment was effective for cancer pain in 15 of 23 patients (65.2%), and these patients showed a clear improvement immediately after treatment compared with before. The incidence of adverse events was 0%, suggesting that acupuncture is a very safe treatment.
