Inclusion Criteria

elective total hip arthroplasty (THA) or total knee arthroplasty (TKA)
- general anesthesia with or without peripheral nerve block

Exclusion Criteria

- known psychiatric disorders (psychosis, major depression) or other cognitive impairment
- language barrier or impaired hearing
- no legal competence
