Study Overview
Brief Summary
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is associated with important cardiac complications including pulmonary hypertension, right ventricular dysfunction and cor pulmonale. This prospective observational study aims to assess cardiac changes in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease using electrocardiography and two dimensional echocardiography with Doppler and to correlate these findings with disease severity. The study will also compare findings with matched non Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease controls.
