To assess the effectiveness of telementoring on improving the knowledge and assessment skills of Community Health Nurses (CHNs) in child and adolescent mental health care

Overview

Brief Summary

A Quasi Experimental study to assess the effectiveness of Telementoring Community Health Nurses (CHNs) on Knowledge and Assessment Skills in Child and Adolescent Mental Health care at Puducherry, This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Telementoring Community Health Nurses (CHNs) on Knowledge and Assessment Skills in Child and Adolescent Mental Health care. Hypothesis of this study is H1: There will be a significant difference in knowledge and Assessment skills on Child and Adolescent Mental Health care of CHNs between the pre and post-test of Training. H2: There will be a significant correlation exists between knowledge and Assessment skills on Child and Adolescent Mental Health care of CHNs.  H3: There will be a significant association between CHNs’ knowledge of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care and assessment skills with selected socio-demographic variables (such as age, years of experience, education level, and prior mental health training).

Inclusion Criteria

  • Nurses working in Primary Health Center, Sub Health Center- Health and Wellness Center,Ayushman Arokya Mandir(AAM).
  • Nurses who are professionally qualified Registered Nurses (RN) with GNM & Above.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Nurses due for long leave more than two months from the working area.

Outcomes

Primary Outcomes

To assess the effectiveness of telementoring on improving the knowledge and assessment skills of Community Health Nurses (CHNs) in child and adolescent mental health care

Time Frame: 3 months

Secondary Outcomes

  • To find out the correlation between knowledge on Child & Adolescent Mental Health care of CHNs with Assessment skills.(To find out the association between knowledge & Assessment skills on child & adolescents mental health care with selected demographic variables like years of experience, previous training & educational level.)
