- Brief Summary
In this study, an attempt is made to compare the effect of Changalamparandadi kashaya and Rasnasapthakam kashaya in the management of knee OA. Changalamparandadi kashaya is a unique preparation of Keraleeya Ayurveda Samajam Hospital, Shornur, which is enormously given in Asthi and sandhi vyadhis. Here 24 patients in each groups were given the two kashayas for a period of 30 days with a dosage of 15ml kashaya added with 45ml of water on empty stomach twice daily. This study was conducted in PNNM Ayurveda Medical College, Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur district of Kerala. The primary outcome measured includes pain, stiffness and difficulty in movements and the secondary outcome measured includes range of movement and quality of life.

Subjects aged between 35 to70 years Diagnosed as per ACR criteria Symptoms confirmed by K& L radiological scale G-I, II, III Willing to give informed consent.
Gouty arthritis,RAÂ and psoriatic arthritis Secondary arthritis Any knee deformities G- IV K & L Radiological scale H/o Fracture or surgery to the joint in the previous 6 months K/h/o other systemic illness K/h/o Psychiatric illness Pregnant and lactating woman.
