Inclusion Criteria

Inclusion criteria are: a generally healthy constitution. The persons to be treated must have intact thermal sensation and be able to perceive and communicate pain.

Exclusion Criteria

Exclusion criteria include: previous mental illness, surgery in the last three months, prosthetics or internal knee arthroplasty, acute inflammation, large scar area, known adhesions, skin disease or hematoma in the area of the knee joint, use of pain medication or mind-altering substances.

Primary Outcome Measures

Measurement of the ligamentous microcirculation of the patellar tendon was performed using a laser Doppler flowmeter and tissue spectrometer (O2C, LEA Medizintechnik GmbH, Heuchelheim, Germany).
Secondary Outcome Measures

The infrared surface temperature of the patellar tendon is recorded using an infrared thermometer (Breuer GmbH) and thermography (FLIR LLC), contactless.
