Inclusion Criteria
All children in the age group between 1 month to 15 completed years, who are undergoing lumbar puncture for clinical indication as per treating team decision without any specific contraindication for performing the procedure.
Exclusion Criteria
Unable to be held in sitting position including children intubated and mechanically ventilated, to make sitting difficult such as spinal injury, child with cerebral palsy.

Name Time Method To study the success rates of lumbar puncture in sitting flexed position as compared to lateral decubitus positionTimepoint: At baseline, then every 4 weekly once till the completion of the trial.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.To compare the number of attempts to obtain CSF between two procedures. <br/ ><br>2.To study the immediate complications between two procedures. <br/ ><br>3.To compare the proportion of traumatic lumbar punctures between two groups. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: At baseline, then every 4 weekly once till the completion of the trial.
