�Patients who have signed the informed consent form.
�Patients with known history of diabetes, under treatment, with documented HbA1c levels (No minimal or maximal limits).
�Clearance from the consulting physician/ diabetologist for implants treatment.
�Posterior mandibular free end situation with loss of at least of three posterior teeth. This can be combined with a total edentulous situation or present solely.
�Patients who require a fixed dental prosthesis.
�Age of more than 18 years at the beginning of treatment.
�Well-healed extraction socket following at least 3 months post extraction.
�Sufficient bone height to place 10 mm length implants
�Willing to participate with voluntary informed consent and commitment for follow-up
1. Not meeting inclusion criteria
2. Patients with a history of other systemic medical disorders that do not permit implant treatment: such as prolonged use of steroids, severe hemophilia, bisphosphonate medication, leukocyte dysfunction or deficiencies, therapeutic radiation to the head and neck region, anticancer chemotherapy, renal failure, uncontrolled endocrine disorders other than diabetes mellitus, physical handicap that interferes ability to perform oral hygiene, use of any investigational drugs or device within 30 days prior to implant surgery, alcoholism ,drug abuse, HIV infection, smoking > 10 cigarettes per day, chewing tobacco/ areca nut more than 3 packets a day, mental handicap.
3. Localized exclusion criteria include: mucosal diseases such as erosive lichen planus, presence of osseous of soft tissue pathologies, unhealed extraction sites, severe bruxism or clenching habits, acute infection at/ around the site of implant placement.
4. Patients with poor oral hygiene and history of poor maintenance.
