To study whether giving long duration prophylactic antibiotics in patients with isolated blunt chest injuries managed with intercostal tube drainage (ICD) has any role in preventing ICD related infectious complications.

Inclusion Criteria
1. Patients of age - 15 years and above.
2. Patients with Isolated blunt chest trauma requiring closed tube thoracostomy.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Penetrating chest injuries.
2.Associated injuries requiring antibiotic administration.
3.Patient requiring ventilator support.
4.Known pulmonary disease/ Immuno-compromised patients.
5.Patient with chest trauma requiring open thoracotomy.
6.Those already on antibiotics for some other injuries/illness.
7.Patients who will not give consent.
