Alcohol dependence confirmed with alcohol consumption within the last 3 weeks before the start of the study, basic desire for treatment, sufficient language skills.
Current alcohol withdrawal syndrome, psychotic disorder (current or lifetime), schizoaffective, bipolar or cyclothymic disorder (current or lifetime), eating disorder with body mass index < 15, acquired brain injury/brain trauma, current drug or medication addiction, CNS-relevant somatic diseases (e.g. multiple sclerosis, epilepsy), serious somatic diseases (e.g. malignant tumors, HIV-infection, AIDS), current infections, conditions not compatible with tDCS (e.g. fear of stimulation), current life-threatening crisis with suicidal tendencies, change of medication in the last 14 days before the start of the study, use of neuroleptics with half-life > 6 hours, medication immediately before the start of the stimulation phase, female gender.
