Inclusion Criteria
1.Cancer patients, Aged 18 to 70 years
2.American Society of Anesthesiologist Grade I-III
3.Patient undergoing oncological surgery.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Any contraindication to general anesthesia
2.Patients with existing acute infection, sepsis.
3.Patients on recent chemotherapy(past 15 days).
4.Patient on chronic treatment with steroids or immune-suppressants.
5.Patient who are morbidly obese, have autoimmune disorders.
6.Patient underwent blood transfusion for < 1 week
7.Patients not willing to give consent

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Difference in biochemical and hematological markers (CBC, TLC, ESR, CRP, PCT, Ferritin, D-Dimer , IL-6,IL-10 and TNF alpha) at three time points (preoperatively, immediately and 24hours after the end of the surgery) in COVID positive and negative cancer patients undergoing major oncological surgery.Timepoint: Baseline, <br/ ><br>Before giving anaesthesia, <br/ ><br>At end of surgery and <br/ ><br>24H after surgery <br/ ><br>
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.Perioperative adverse events- hypotension, hypoxia, apnea, bradycardia and cardiac arrest. <br/ ><br>2.Early mortality- within same hospital admission/within one month, whichever is earlier <br/ ><br>3.Major morbidity- Surgical site infection, Need for post-operative ventilation and its duration, need for BIPAP support, Duration of ventilation, inotropic score, ICU stay, length of hospital stay. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Baseline, Before giving anaesthesia (T0), <br/ ><br>At end of surgery (T1) <br/ ><br>24H after surgery T(2) <br/ ><br>
