简要总结
Shooting accuracy is a critical determinant of success in basketball, relying on precise coordination, balance, and motor control. While the role of core and limb muscles in shooting mechanics has been well-documented and well researched, the contribution of neck muscles to performance is often overlooked. Neck muscles are essential for maintaining head stability and postural control, which are vital and crucial for accurate shooting. However, fatigue in these muscles may compromise motor coordination and balance, negatively affecting performance. This study aims to investigate the influence of induced neck muscle fatigue on shooting accuracy among collegiate basketball players. It is hypothesized that neck muscle fatigue will lead to a significant reduction in shooting accuracy due to impaired head stability and disrupted coordination. A total of 30 Participants, aged 18–25 years will participate in this pre-test/post-test experimental study. Shooting accuracy will be assessed through 3- point shooting before and after the induction of neck muscle fatigue using a standardized isometric neck endurance protocol. Fatigue levels will be measured using the Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion Scale, while shooting performance will be evaluated based on shooting percentage. Data will be analyzed using SPSS software. The findings are expected to highlight the importance of neck muscle endurance in maintaining optimal shooting performance. This study could provide valuable insights for basketball coaches and trainers as well as sports physiotherapists, encouraging the inclusion of neck muscle training in conditioning programs to mitigate fatigue-related performance declines.
