Quantitative Arm: Early supported discharge team that treats stroke at the case study area health service
Qualitative arm : Staff member, manager or support worker for that ESD service
Exclusion Criteria
An ESD team or service outside the area health service in question

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Presence or absence of consensus components in the team including measures of number of disciplines, ratio of staff to 100 patients per year, presence of team coordinator, weekly meeting schedule, hospital base, patient eligibility criteria, liaison with inpatient staff and outcome measures collected. Rates of hospital length of stay for stroke patients, hospital readmission rates and inpatient length of stay will also be compared to the consensus guidelines.[Baseline]

Name Time Method nderstanding of the ESD staff's point of view regarding the importance of the consensus components for their practice context. This will be collected by focus group sessions segmentalised into managers and staff from each hospital base in the service.[Baseline]
