- Brief Summary
This study was aimed to test the effect of applying the internet-based environmental prenatal education program through a Zoom conference to pregnant women based on Rogers’ rPMT (1983) [20]. An environmental prenatal education program was developed, and educational interventions were conducted at two public health centers in April-November 2021, and the results of pre-post-test on two groups. The IEPP developed as a result of the study had a higher environmental perception than the face-to-face group through general prenatal education. The severity, response efficacy, and benefit were higher than control group. Environmental health behavior and educational satisfaction were not significantly different from face-to-face education. Therefore, it is suggested to actively spread the internet-based environmental prenatal education program in prenatal education because it can be applied in the context of pandemic era. As environmental pollution is getting serious and environmental health problems of pregnant women and fetuses caused by environmental toxins are being revealed, the results of this study are intended to provide health care by applying internet-based programs at public health centers, hospitals, and institutions with educational access to schools.
