Group 1: ART-naïve CLHIV, Group 2: CLHIV on ART (for >=1y duration on current ART regimen), Group 3: Age-matched healthy controls
Poor adherence to ART ( <95%), immunological failure, critically-ill children, those with clinically proven opportunistic infections (OIs) like TB, CMV, HCV and HBV infection, those with chronic diseases like chronic liver disorders or renal insufficiency, those receiving antibiotics or steroids >=1month duration, anti-tuberculous/ isoniazid preventive therapy (IPT), CLHIV on second line ART (virological failure) and those receiving immunomodulators or anti-oxidant supplements within the preceding 3 months
