Brief Summary
In this study, it was possible to observe that lycopene supplementation with cooked tomatoes for 12 weeks was able to reduce the concentration of carbonyl protein, an important marker of oxidative damage.

Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients older than 18 years old and prevalent in chronic HD for at least three months were included;
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients with cancer, HIV-positive undergoing antiretroviral therapy, end-stage liver disease, heart failure disease with ejection fraction less than 30%, clinical diagnosis of acute infection, (or using antibiotics), chronic inflammatory diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
