Inclusion Criteria
elective major orthopedic surgery (hip replacement); normal preoperative scores in MMST; normal preoperative scores in CAM
Exclusion Criteria
non-elective surgery; MMST or IQCODE or CAM indicating cognitive impairment or preexisting delirium
