Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age above 65 years who are undergoing cardiac surgery
  • LVEF \> 50%

Exclusion Criteria

  • Contraindications to intrathecal analgesia like allergy, patient refusal
  • Preexisting chronic pain
  • Opioid abuse
  • psychiatric disorders
  • Previous surgery in the thoracic vertebral region
  • Preexisting neurological condition
  • Severe respiratory disease
  • Expected postoperative mechanical ventilation duration pre than 6 hours
  • Renal dusfunction
