Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Recruitment at 28 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Accurate dates (LMP/early USG done in1st trimester).
  • Cephalic presentation
  • Normotensive and normal blood sugar levels till the end of pregnancy.
  • No other comorbidities.
  • any risk factor for PTB (maternal age less than 18 or more than 35 years,being underweight or obese at the start of pregnancy as recorded in their prenatal care records, uterine anomalies, previous history, history of vaginitis, urinary tract infection, bleeding in early pregnancy, pregnancy after in vitro
  • fertilization, smoking, alcohol intake, and long working hours with prolonged

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1 Multiple pregnancy.
  • 2 Congenital fetal anomalies.
  • 3 Polyhydramnios.
  • 4 Preterm premature rupture of membranes.
  • 5 Placenta previa/placenta accreta.
  • 6 History of cervical trauma.
  • 7 Induced abortion after treatment.
  • 8 Medically indicated PTB.
