Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Patients: Caucasian males and females aged \>18 and \<70 years scheduled for hip or ankle joint arthroplasty due to osteoarthritis
  • •Controls: Healthy male and female caucasian individuals aged \>18 and \<70 years

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Patients: Age \<18 or \>69 years and bone fracture as reason for arthroplasty
  • •Controls: Age \<18 or \>69 years
