Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\) Adult patients \>15 years
  • 2\) \> 15 % flame/electric/scald/chemical (2nd and 3rd degree) burns
  • 3\) Time elapsed since burns not \> 12 hrs

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\) \< 15 years of age
  • 2\) \< 15% TBSA burns
  • 3\) Index presentation \> 12 hours
  • 4\) Pregnant patients
  • 5\) Known comorbidities like COPD, CKD, CLD and CHF
  • 6\) Who received fluids other than RL and isotonic bicarbonate prior to admission
