- Brief Summary
This randomized controlled trial aims to assess the effectiveness of a preseason training program incorporating groin specific exercises in reducing the incidence of groin injuries and improving athletic performance in high-impact female athletes aged between 18 and 25 years. A total of 128 professional female athletes with at least three years of experience in sports such as football, basketball, kabaddi, fencing, and athletics will be randomly allocated into two groups, an experimental group receiving traditional training plus groin specific exercises, and a control group receiving only traditional training. The intervention will span 12 weeks. Outcome measures include, number of groin injury incidences measure, hip muscle strength using hand-held dynamometer, hip joint flexibility and range of motion using goniometer, HAGOS score and functional movement screening tool score. The study seeks to generate evidence for the role of groin targeted preseason conditioning in injury prevention and functional enhancement among female athletes, a population often underrepresented in sports injury research.
