Normal population: healthy male and female subjects between 18-30 years of age without previous cardiovascular disease, normal weight, i.e. BMI <25 kg/m2
Subjects with specially operated aortic coarctation: male and female subjects between 18-30 years of age who had aortic coarctation surgery in the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, or who are undergoing follow-up care there, subclavian-flap technique only
Subjects with aortic coarctation surgery: male and female subjects between 18-30 years of age who had aortic coarctation surgery at the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Intensive Care at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, or who are undergoing follow-up care there, no subclavian flap technique
Other serious diseases of the cardiovascular system (e.g. heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, arteriosclerosis, PAD), metabolic diseases (e.g. lipid metabolism disorder requiring therapy, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2), sudden cardiac death in the family

Name Time Method Intima-media thickness (IMT), intima-media roughness (IMR) and vessel stiffness measured by high-resolution ultrasound at the time of presentation
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Cardiovascular risk: heart rate, blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference, BMI, body fat, lean body mass, LDL, HDL, cholesterol, triglycerides, small blood count, fitness test. <br>Medical history: physical fitness, weekly activity, weight.
