1.American Society of Anaesthesiology physical status grade I and II
2.Aged between 18-65 years
3.Undergoing elective surgical procedures.
2.No history of allergies to study drugs.
1.Patients not willing to participate in the study.
2.History of any cerebrovascular, neurological, cardiovascular, pulmonary, or metabolic disease.
3.Medications that would influence autonomic or cardiovascular response to intubation.
4.Risk of pulmonary aspiration (hiatus hernia, gastro-esophageal reflux).
5.History of neuromuscular disease that would make muscle relaxants contraindicated.
6.Predicted difficult intubation (Mallampati class III and IV).11
7.Heart rate <50/minute and/or, basal BP outside the 100/50â??160/110mmHg range.
8.Pregnant and lactating patients.
9.Orthopedic and pediatric surgeries will be excluded from the study.
