Use of a cochlear implant, unilateral or bilateral
- Age of majority
- Attendance at regular appointments during the study period at the hearing centre in Düsseldorf
- Good German language skills according to the therapist's assessment
- Written informed consent
- implantation of the cochlear implant at least 6 weeks ago
- No written consent of the patient
- Minor
- Sign language as mother tongue
- Insufficient knowledge of German according to the therapist's assessment
- Uncorrectable visual impairment / blindness according to own statements
- Illiterate, according to own statements
- Known mental illness such as severe depression or dementia

Name Time Method End of data collection 12/2022<br>The end point is reached when all 50 test persons (25 CI users and 25 normal-hearing persons) have completed the required questionnaires and passed the experiment. The data will then be processed statistically.
