Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Use of a cochlear implant, unilateral or bilateral
  • •\- Age of majority
  • •\- Attendance at regular appointments during the study period at the hearing centre in Düsseldorf
  • •\- Good German language skills according to the therapist's assessment
  • •\- Written informed consent
  • •\- implantation of the cochlear implant at least 6 weeks ago

Exclusion Criteria

  • •\- No written consent of the patient
  • •\- Sign language as mother tongue
  • •\- Insufficient knowledge of German according to the therapist's assessment
  • •\- Uncorrectable visual impairment / blindness according to own statements
  • •\- Illiterate, according to own statements
  • •\- Known mental illness such as severe depression or dementia
