At least moderate depressive episode (clinical diagnosis according to ICD-10); depressiveness measured with the PHQ-8 = 10, age >=18 years, very good knowledge of German; patients for whom new antidepressants are prescribed at the start of inpatient treatment, or the antidepressant medication is changed (dose, preparation).
Excluded from the study are patients who are being treated with a placement request, patients on protected wards, patients with acute psychotic symptoms (delusional symptoms or hallucinations described in the AMDP findings), a currently existing addiction disorder, persons who were admitted to the hospital during their stay: patients with acute psychotic symptoms (delusional symptoms or hallucinations described in the AMDP findings), a current addiction disorder, persons who are prescribed benzodiazepines during their inpatient stay (except for medication on demand); no cognitive-mnestic deficits relevant to everyday life, in particular no cognitive deficits that make it impossible for patients to complete the questionnaires independently.
