Inclusion Criteria
Study subjects in the age group of 12-16 years.
Study subjects with fully erupted permanent teeth.
Residential homes that gave permission to conduct the study.
Study subjects staying in those residential homes willing to give assent to participate in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
Study subjects with any systemic disease.
Study subjects with history of taking antibiotics three months prior or during the course of the study.
Any medically compromised study subjects.
Subjects undergoing orthodontic therapy.
Study subjects exposed to professionally applied topical fluorides.

Name Time Method 25% xylitol toothpaste was as effective as the conventional 1000 ppm fluoridated toothpaste in the control of plaque, Streptococcus mutans count and salivary pH levels.Timepoint: Time intervals of 30 days Salivary pH, plaque scores and Streptococcus mutans count
