Age over 18 years
Clinical diagnosis of extra-facial melasma characterized by the presence of brownish hyperpigmented spots under regular illumination, with irregular borders, symmetrically distributed in body areas except the face.
1 History of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and hyperchromic contact dermatitis with symptoms such as itching, stinging, burning, or local trauma before the appearance of the lesions.
2 Pregnant women
3 Patients with contraindications for skin biopsy such as a history of keloid formation or coagulation disorders
4. Patients not giving consent
