Inclusion Criteria

clinically relevant impairment of health related quality of life: Vertigo Handicap Questionnaire sum score > 45

Exclusion Criteria

- insufficient German language ability
- relevant cognitive disorder (Mini Mental Status Test < 27) or other mental disorder causing major impairment of social functioning (including suicidality)
- severe, chronic somatic disease
- current psychotherapy
- permanent residence more than 50 km away from the trial site
